Weekly Top 10: Vol. 23
Happy Friday! We’re loving these ten things this week and think that you will too!
1) d’Orsay Flats: We adore d’Orsay flats. They’re so comfy and easy to throw on when you’re chasing kiddos around!
2) Beauty Counter’s Baby Line: This new baby line of products from Beauty Counter is great. Their products contain only the safest ingredients and go through rigorous testing. Safe for even the most sensitive skins!
3) Cilantro Edamame Hummus Recipe: Hummus made from edamame instead of chick peas. This is a great recipe for when you want to mix things up a bit!
4) A Color Story App: Have ya’ll tried this app yet? It’s our new fave for photo editing!
5) Something Delightful’s Workout Favorites: We loved Rachel’s post on her blog this week on workout attire! We’re always looking for cute athletic clothes to make our morning workouts a little bit more fun.
6) Rodan and Field’s Redefine Eye Cream: This eye cream does wonders for tired, sleep deprived eyes. Our friend, Leah, is doing a special promo for our friends right now, too! Now through March 16th, receive a FREE Rodan + Fields Essentials line product of your choice with a preferred customer order. Just reference EL+RF code in your message to get your free product. :)
7) @shaycochrane on Instagram: Follow along with our photographer, Shay, on Instagram! Gorgeous. Inspirational. And she posts the BEST fashion advice.
8) Kate Spade ‘One in a Million’ Mug: This mug is super cute and makes a great gift. We love the idea of gifting to a teacher, along with a gift card, for a little pick me up towards the end of the school year!
9) RysaRuth’s Seersucker Dress: Seersuckers, ruffles, and a big bow to complete the look. We LOVE this dress from RysaRuth!
10) Our March Playlist: Be sure to take a look at our March Spotify playlist to hear what we’ll be listening to all month long!
Simple Style Vol. 1: Favorite Dress for Spring
Banana Republic Dress // Sam & Libby Wedges // Gold Ball Stud Earrings // Kate Spade Watch // J Crew Sunglasses
So, I’m not really a fashion-y person. I like what I like and I’m pretty brand loyal. I tend to find a brand I really like and stick to them. For a long time it was GAP, then LOFT and now it’s Banana Republic. I especially love Banana when they introduce a bit of color into their pieces. So, I told the ladies in my office about a few people I love to follow for outfit ideas (Shay Cochrane, our photographer, is one of my faves – though she’s a little more adventurous than I am). I was saying how hard it is to find pieces that work for my requirements: COMFORTABLE, not waist hugging, not too loose or tight. I love drapey tees and skinny jeans. Most days I wear workout clothes (Have you seen the new Calia line by Carrie Underwood at Dick’s Sporting Goods? My fave) because I work out in the am and take the kids on a walk after work / school.
(Seriously, this boy…. I digress) Lately, I’ve had a lot of big meetings and events, so I splurged on this dress. I’m a big believer in buying a few really high quality pieces and then going cheaper on other things. This dress is one of my faves. It’s 40% with the code BRCFIT right now too – as of this post date!! It’s so worth the investment (and comes in navy and black also). It’s very structured and makes me feel all pulled in in all the right places.
Now here we are – at the start of a new biweekly feature we’re going to have here on the blog – Simple Style. Easy, comfortable pieces – different price ranges and brands. Though you know I love Banana. : ) I wear clothes that make me feel good about myself, not clothes that remind me I have some extra stretchy skin. So hop over to Instagram and let me know what you think and what you’d like to see here! I feel SO AWKWARD posting about clothes. I love design and I love style, but I’m not a fashionista. I do, however, know what I love and what works for me as a busy mama and business gal. So this should be fun!
I swear to you, it was so windy and I was trying to keep my hair out of this face. The ladies in my office and I JUST got up off the floor from crying laughing at this picture. I had to post it. <insert crying laughing emoji>
As of this post’s date, BR is having a 40% off sale (with the code: BRCFIT)! Here are some of my favorites!
