I am a photographer, a believer, a mentor, a encourager and connector. I cherish all of these roles because I love people. Serving others with what I can give them is my bread and butter. I love becoming friends with my clients and getting to the core of who they are and capturing that beauty.
I was born and raised in the Twin Cities of Minnesota where I currently reside with my husband, Matt and our amazing pup, Mya. I love to drink iced tea, sing in the car with the windows down, encourage others, sit in the sun and read Scripture that speaks directly to my soul.
Y’all know Mrs. Gina. She’s one of my very best friends on the planet. She has an enormous heart (honestly, I don’t think my words can do it justice) and I’m so excited to feature her pick six on Thanksgiving week. I’m so endlessly grateful for her friendship. xo Emily
LARA CASEY’S POWERSHEETS: Yes, Lara is one of my best friends, but this just like my Emily Ley Simplified Planner they are part of my everyday bread and butter. Taking the time to really fill out these Power Sheets (which took me months by the way, because I was afraid of screwing them up….what?) has made a tremendous impact on me. To really make mini daily progress towards my goals, even if it’s just getting re-focused by looking at my goals; These things help me simplify to water matters. Amen, amen. I adore these. I can’t wait to dive into mine for 2014.
KELLY MOORE BAG: I LOVE THIS BAG! Times a million. I use it almost everyday and every photo shoot or wedding. It’s also the perfect carry on “purse” always fits in under the seat. Honestly the endless pockets and just awesome flexibility makes me a nutty brand believer in the Kelly Moore line and the Libby bag!
FLIGHT TRACK APP: Speaking of travel this is one of my favorite apps. I am going to be honest here. Even though I travel often, I always get ancy and nervous while trying to get to a flight. I am always afraid I won’t make it or I will get turned around. This app always calms my travel jitters, with giving me information even before they announce it on the big screens. Information like gate updates, seat changes, delays. I get notifications for it all. Also, it has terminal maps, so if I have to bust it to a connecting flight, I already know the gate we will arrive to and where to run too :). I never have to worry about paying attention to the screen. It’s so great! (note it syncs with Trip it Pro, some friends just use the trip it app and that works great too)
BIBLE APP: I love having the Bible app on my phone and easily accessible. My favorite reason is that I can read a bible verse in a bunch of different translations. This really helps me understand a verse when sometimes I have no idea what it means. Plus it’s got amazing devotionals and reading plans all for free!! Get it!!
SHOOTQ: This is one of my must haves for photography. It simplifies my life and client experience times a trillion. (I like big numbers) From Client inquires, to invoicing Shootq SIMPLIFIES so many of my client experience steps! Check it out if you are a photographer. Also, check out Photo Mechanic! My other must have for photography!
iMESSAGE: If you are an apple user. The iMessage app that you can download to your computer, is my saving grace many days! I love that I can talk faster and more efficient with my messages through my computers! Use it. Save time!!!! Gina turned me onto this app (it’s already on your iMac – just go to applications) and I LOVE it. Gina Hafley and I keep in touch all day with it and I can keep up with texts without missing a beat of work. It’s awesome.

Ok, and I have to share with you one of my top five most favorite possessions in the whole wide world. A video Gina made of little Brady and I. I cry every single time I watch it. Gina’s talents as a photographer (and videographer) are just incredible. Love you, G.

While we love to share products and services that help us day to day, but simplicity is about HEART and intentionally choosing the thing that matters most (your TREASURE) more than anything money can buy. We wear many hats and we know you do too, so we’d love to hear your thoughts as well!
